Megan Janet White is a body-based performer, teacher, choreographer, installation artist and costume designer, based in Brisbane. She has been studying Butoh, a form of Japanese dance theatre, and running workshops for over 10 years and has kindly brought her expertise to the Butter Factory!
Butoh ignites the positive imagination, where the body is moved by poetic imagery that offers a bridge between the conscious, unconscious and subconscious. This workshop is intended to engage gentle practice to awaken the senses; to become curious and more aware of our inner terrain as well as our surroundings.
The four hour workshop, presented as part of the UnMasked project, moves at a gentle and steady pace with time to rest and integrate as well as check-in with conversation along the way. We will have a tea and snack break halfway through. All practices are self-based within the positive company of the group and always moving with space in between. Megan guides the workshop with care and sensitivity to all unique participants.
